Shift Workers Three Times More Likely To Be Hospitalized For Covid-19, Study Finds

People who work shifts are significantly more likely to end up in the hospital with Covid-19 than people who have regular 9-to-5 work patterns, according to new research published online in the journal Thorax.

The study included more than 280,000 participants aged 40 to 69 and compared workers who never worked shifts to participants who worked irregular or permanent shifts, including both long-term night shifts and work schedules in which employees change or rotate their shifts.
